Captain’s Log: Rebooturbation

I went to a movie this weekend. Yes it was that movie. Yes it was that good (even if you don’t like the genre). For all the reboots and rehashes of stale material that are out there, there are always a few that far exceed anyone’s expectations. This is one of the few, and unfortunately what will come after are half hearted imitators that will never live up to what the initial firestarter achieved.

J.J. Abrams’ work in my eyes has always been hit or miss… loved Alias, loved/hated Lost, hated Cloverfield (I know he didn’t write or direct, but he was involved greatly in the development), and MI:3 was meh. Anyway in my eyes this movie redeems his past missteps and I am truly excited to see what he does next.

Am I a trekkie… no… but I do enjoy a decent flick and this was so much more than decent.

See it. Enjoy it. It is why I love Movies.
